Thompson believes the opportunities for the linear process appear to be endless and well-suited for a wide range of manufacturing purposes in the automotive, medical, power generation and other high-performance engineering applications such as Formula 1 components.

The process parameters can now be explored to a greater extent than ever before and Thompson is proud of its close working relationship with The Welding Institute, based in Cambridge, which is designed to gain an even better understanding of the possibilities of this technology.
